You know you don’t want to feel this way…
It’s finally hitting you: the reality of this loss and what it means for your life moving forward.
That numb feeling ebbs and flows. However, the pain has become more piercing and sharp.
It takes strength and courage to acknowledge that you cannot do this alone.
Therapy can be hard work…
In the midst of your loss, you tried hard to hold it all together. Avoiding the pain was working at first, but now you’re finding it’s just not getting better.
Therapy can be challenging and forces you to look at yourself in a different light, which can be scary.
You are right where you need to be!
You are asking yourself, “Where do I start, what do I talk about?” The answer is – just start.
In our first session, I will ask questions to learn about your life and what brings you here.
I want to know more about your “why now”? Sessions with me are warm and inviting, and you will feel accepted just where you are.
You will be met with warmth and acceptance.
In our work together, you will learn to manage the difficult feelings of anger, depression, and guilt.
You will find peace knowing that there is no “normal” in grief, and I’ll help you to accept where you are right now on this journey.
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I take an eclectic approach.
Just as every client’s circumstances and reasons for seeking therapy are unique, your treatment will be specifically tailored to you.
It would be my honor to work with you.
It is my belief that most people already have the answers they are looking for.
They need someone to help guide them in finding these answers within themselves.
You will be met with kindness and compassion, feel heard and validated. Grief and pain will be witnessed. The weight will lift from your shoulders, and you will be lighter.
Therapy is a judgment-free zone and a safe space for you. You can laugh, you can scream, you can cry.
About Rebecca Jarrell, MA, LPC, LPCC
A little about me.
Hi, I’m Rebecca. From the first day of my high school Psychology elective class, I knew that I had found what I was meant to do and wanted a career in the mental health field!
I could not wait to start college, majoring in Psychology. Mental health and wellness have been my passion. I’ve had my share of ups and downs along the way, but have always considered therapy my calling.
My background and experience.
During the early part of my career, I worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital in the child and adolescent unit.
I spent several years working with children in the foster care system, providing home-based therapy to children as well as the foster parents. During this time, I learned more about trauma, grief, and loss, and the long-lasting effects it can have on a person.
I was in a successful private practice office for well over a decade.
I started to explore telehealth and found it intriguing. I loved the idea of therapy coming to the client!
Then came the pandemic.
It all seemed to fall into place. It was during this time I took the leap, gave up my office, and became exclusively telehealth and have not looked back!
Realizing my true passion was working with grief and loss issues with my clients, I completed training with world-renowned grief expert David Kessler. Through his program, I became a Certified Grief Educator.
I offer an individualized approach to grief and will meet you wherever you are at on your grief journey.
Personally…
Fitness and health are important priorities for me, so I strive to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
In addition to my practice, I love spending time with my husband and children. We enjoy going on cruises in the summer.
I have a daughter, granddaughter, and two boys who still live at home. They keep us busy with various after-school activities.
My other child is a German Shepherd named Violet (yes, named after my favorite color)!
